A Taste of Morocco

The plan was to head to Kasbah for my birthday last Thursday, but after a full day of activities and shopping,  I was exhausted.  So we opted to rain check for Sunday night; something to look forward to once Kevin got back from Michigan.

Headed out last night for a nice walk to the restaurant.  Turns out Abigail's not a fan of bumpy roads, but since Seattle is clearly not focused on funding our roads, she'll have to get used to it...

And you know how we've been bragging about what a chill baby she is?  Well, she mixed things up last night and stayed awake through dinner and her very own 4 course meal...  Luckily we were sitting in a corner, so I was able to feed her without being too obvious or hippie-like about it.

Although in true Abigail form, she never cried, so really, I have nothing to complain about....

She opted for the cushion between us instead of her stroller
No belly dancers last night, so we made up our own African napkin dance

Post dinner chill time with Dad

Family pic in front of the fountain... how exotic  ;)

Dinner was great, and for those of you who've never tried Moroccan food, you must check it out!

However, I'm not sure Abigail was a fan.... she's been having a tummy ache today, so it looks like I'll be laying off the North African cuisine for a while.

Here she is today, resting up after a tough night of exotic spices...

Today is the first time in her swing- she loves it!!

And just for the record, yes, that is a hospital blanket.  Given to me by her baby nurse, not stolen!

20 week ultrasound

Yesterday Kevin and I went to our 20 week ultrasound.  Everything looked great and the two questions still lingering in my mind were confirmed. 1) Yes, it's a boy! 2) Nope, I'm not having twins  :) I've heard it a million times: with each pregnancy you pop a little sooner, but when I was in maternity pants at 12 weeks, I thought surely there must be two in there... Here are some pictures, if you'd like to see. During George's 20 week ultrasound Kevin admitted he'd almost fallen asleep, so I will admit: I had a hard time staying awake this time  :) But we did get to see him in 4D ultrasound which we've never done before, so that was really cool. So fun! After our appointment we went to breakfast at Salish Lodge and took my first Month of Bumps picture. (cue shrills of excitement from everyone eager to see belly pics for the next 4 months!) Before taking the picture I (lovingly) assured Kevin that yes, we would be taking...

Two!

Yesterday you turned two; I can hardly believe it! Two year pictures, wearing a dress I wore when I was little You are such a funny, sweet little girl, and I love seeing your personality unfold more each day.  This last month you've really started coming out of your shell and love making people laugh; whether tickling "gee gee gee gee" , or joking around (the other day you took a doll house high chair and pretended to sit in it...all the while looking back at me smiling and laughing like "look, I'm going to try and sit in this teeny highchair!" ), you sure know how to make us laugh. Music is your first love.  Beach Boys Greatest Hits is the current album favorite , so we listen to it in the car every day.  Mainly to Barbara Ann (you always request "ba ba ba" ).  You also love listening to Swiss music with Grandma and having Dad play "Abigail Loves Cheese" on his guitar when he gets home at night. Schwingfest is this Saturday a...

five months

Happy #5, Benny Boy! You have grown up so much this past month, and in the sweetest ways possible.  You adore a good tickle or friendly face and can't seem to soak in the world around you enough; every time I look at you, your eyes are quickly scanning the room, working hard to put all the pieces together. A smart little guy, you are  :) This month I moved you to the nursery.  It was becoming increasingly difficult to put Abigail and George to bed at night, but putting them together in a room has made bedtime simple - they love being together.  As such, you now have your own room!  It's so sweet being back in a nursery with a little one.  Since George was in our bedroom until he was 5 months, then living at Gma and Gpa's for another 6 months, he wasn't in his own room until his first birthday.  So, in many ways, having you in a nursery reminds me so much of my first time around the Motherhood block, and many nights it fills me with such joy just...
