Month of Bumps! (37-40)

Dear Abigail,

Are you ready?  Tomorrow is your due date!  I have been having lots of labor signs the last few days, so either you're playing a trick on us, or I'm just too excited (probably the latter...)  You have been such a fun and amazing baby to carry around the last 40 weeks and while I can't wait to meet you face to face, I will surely miss your kicks, hiccups, karate chops, and late night dance parties.
This last month you went to your first 4th of July party on Lake Union (you didn't seem to mind the noise of the fireworks at all), and came with us on our first Anniversary trip to Alderbrook.  You also got to taste our wedding cake this weekend too!.... but it made you a little sick...may have been the extra piece I thought we deserved  ;)
We have your 40 week doctor's appointment on Thursday, and since the doctor doesn't want us going past 2 weeks, we're going to talk about an induction date if need be (I think you should surprise us all and come tomorrow, okay?!)
We're so excited to meet you, so hurry up and get here little Lovies!

Love you with all my heart,
Mom

Dear Abigail,
So excited that your coming is soon! Mamie and Papa can't wait to hold you and love you and do fun things with you...

Tanya,
Can you believe you stood in that spot a year ago? God is so good and we feel so blessed. Love you, praying for you that the birth will be safe, quick and as painless as possible!

20 week ultrasound

Yesterday Kevin and I went to our 20 week ultrasound.  Everything looked great and the two questions still lingering in my mind were confirmed. 1) Yes, it's a boy! 2) Nope, I'm not having twins  :) I've heard it a million times: with each pregnancy you pop a little sooner, but when I was in maternity pants at 12 weeks, I thought surely there must be two in there... Here are some pictures, if you'd like to see. During George's 20 week ultrasound Kevin admitted he'd almost fallen asleep, so I will admit: I had a hard time staying awake this time  :) But we did get to see him in 4D ultrasound which we've never done before, so that was really cool. So fun! After our appointment we went to breakfast at Salish Lodge and took my first Month of Bumps picture. (cue shrills of excitement from everyone eager to see belly pics for the next 4 months!) Before taking the picture I (lovingly) assured Kevin that yes, we would be taking...

Two!

Yesterday you turned two; I can hardly believe it! Two year pictures, wearing a dress I wore when I was little You are such a funny, sweet little girl, and I love seeing your personality unfold more each day.  This last month you've really started coming out of your shell and love making people laugh; whether tickling "gee gee gee gee" , or joking around (the other day you took a doll house high chair and pretended to sit in it...all the while looking back at me smiling and laughing like "look, I'm going to try and sit in this teeny highchair!" ), you sure know how to make us laugh. Music is your first love.  Beach Boys Greatest Hits is the current album favorite , so we listen to it in the car every day.  Mainly to Barbara Ann (you always request "ba ba ba" ).  You also love listening to Swiss music with Grandma and having Dad play "Abigail Loves Cheese" on his guitar when he gets home at night. Schwingfest is this Saturday a...

five months

Happy #5, Benny Boy! You have grown up so much this past month, and in the sweetest ways possible.  You adore a good tickle or friendly face and can't seem to soak in the world around you enough; every time I look at you, your eyes are quickly scanning the room, working hard to put all the pieces together. A smart little guy, you are  :) This month I moved you to the nursery.  It was becoming increasingly difficult to put Abigail and George to bed at night, but putting them together in a room has made bedtime simple - they love being together.  As such, you now have your own room!  It's so sweet being back in a nursery with a little one.  Since George was in our bedroom until he was 5 months, then living at Gma and Gpa's for another 6 months, he wasn't in his own room until his first birthday.  So, in many ways, having you in a nursery reminds me so much of my first time around the Motherhood block, and many nights it fills me with such joy just...
