George is Four!

My smart, amazing middle man turned four this past weekend and we were so excited to celebrate him!

Since the slew of August birthdays George had been wondering when he would get a turn, but Friday finally came and we celebrated at The Family Fun Center and with ALL the Power Rangers...including an awesome poster Kevin made of George.

Here are some pictures from his special day:

Air George šŸ˜‰

George,

You are the combination of so many endearing characteristics: smart, funny, kind hearted, earnest, and strong willed, and you make each day an adventure with your dynamic spirit.  You love deeply and fight just as passionately.

Here's whats new in your 4th year:
  • When asked what you wanted for your birthday, this was usually the reply "I want ALL the Power Rangers, ALL the Paw Patrol, ALL the Ninja Ninja Turtles!"
  • you could watch kids playing with toys on YouTube all day if we let you
  • You love wearing costumes and this year it's all about Power Rangers
  • You don't like "salad" in your sandwiches (lettuce)
  • You're a great cuddling and always want to get "cozy in the rosy"
  • You are always commenting on how things smell and insist on smelling freshly washed pajamas and shirts before putting them on.
  • You don't like when we call you GG "My name is Joe.  If you call me GG, then I sorry, I will call you Tanga" (šŸ˜‚)
You're the best, G Man.  Here is your (Power Rangers themed šŸ˜‰) birthday interview:

We love you more than words can properly express, Georgie.

Happy Birthday to you, sweet boy!

20 week ultrasound

Yesterday Kevin and I went to our 20 week ultrasound.  Everything looked great and the two questions still lingering in my mind were confirmed. 1) Yes, it's a boy! 2) Nope, I'm not having twins  :) I've heard it a million times: with each pregnancy you pop a little sooner, but when I was in maternity pants at 12 weeks, I thought surely there must be two in there... Here are some pictures, if you'd like to see. During George's 20 week ultrasound Kevin admitted he'd almost fallen asleep, so I will admit: I had a hard time staying awake this time  :) But we did get to see him in 4D ultrasound which we've never done before, so that was really cool. So fun! After our appointment we went to breakfast at Salish Lodge and took my first Month of Bumps picture. (cue shrills of excitement from everyone eager to see belly pics for the next 4 months!) Before taking the picture I (lovingly) assured Kevin that yes, we would be taking...

Two!

Yesterday you turned two; I can hardly believe it! Two year pictures, wearing a dress I wore when I was little You are such a funny, sweet little girl, and I love seeing your personality unfold more each day.  This last month you've really started coming out of your shell and love making people laugh; whether tickling "gee gee gee gee" , or joking around (the other day you took a doll house high chair and pretended to sit in it...all the while looking back at me smiling and laughing like "look, I'm going to try and sit in this teeny highchair!" ), you sure know how to make us laugh. Music is your first love.  Beach Boys Greatest Hits is the current album favorite , so we listen to it in the car every day.  Mainly to Barbara Ann (you always request "ba ba ba" ).  You also love listening to Swiss music with Grandma and having Dad play "Abigail Loves Cheese" on his guitar when he gets home at night. Schwingfest is this Saturday a...

five months

Happy #5, Benny Boy! You have grown up so much this past month, and in the sweetest ways possible.  You adore a good tickle or friendly face and can't seem to soak in the world around you enough; every time I look at you, your eyes are quickly scanning the room, working hard to put all the pieces together. A smart little guy, you are  :) This month I moved you to the nursery.  It was becoming increasingly difficult to put Abigail and George to bed at night, but putting them together in a room has made bedtime simple - they love being together.  As such, you now have your own room!  It's so sweet being back in a nursery with a little one.  Since George was in our bedroom until he was 5 months, then living at Gma and Gpa's for another 6 months, he wasn't in his own room until his first birthday.  So, in many ways, having you in a nursery reminds me so much of my first time around the Motherhood block, and many nights it fills me with such joy just...
