Week One with Benny!

Wow, things have been busy but we've made it through the first week with everyone intact  :) Benny fits so perfectly into the family and I've been on cloud 9 all week cuddling my precious little babe. Abigail and George are adjusting really well.  George has calmed down since Ben has been here (I think the unknown was causing some anxiety) and Abigail's an old hat; enjoying every minute of playing big sister to a brand new baby. Kevin was able to take most of the week off from work, so we've had lots of time with the kids to hang out, relax, and adjust to being a family of 5. As for me, I find myself really taking the time to relax and enjoy these early days with my little guy.  It's been such a magical week- I can hardly express it in writing, but everything feels just right. And while we've had some bumps in the road with sleep, the past few nights Ben's given me a few 3-5 hour stretches, so I can't complain. Well, I could, but I won't...

Benjamin David Lauckner

It is with great joy that we welcome another beautiful boy to the family! Benjamin David Lauckner was born yesterday evening at 8:30pm.  He weighs 6lbs, 13oz, and is 20"long. We are so in love with this cuddly, adorable boy and can't wait for everyone to meet him! Welcome to the family, my sweet little Ben.   You are loved beyond measure!

Two!

Happy Birthday, GG BOY! Today you turn two. You are full of spirit! Always laughing, climbing, jumping, running, and smiling (although today you seem a little off).  Over the past two years you have filled our lives with so much fun, excitement, and joy; being your Mom is a continuos adventure full of learning and, at times, a good dose of patience  ;) As you've been able to tell, I have been pretty tired this past week.  Your baby brother was due a week ago today, and while I was really hoping he would come last weekend, we are now passing your birthday and he still hasn't arrived. But I do like the fact that we will be able to celebrate your birthday first each year.  Even though there is a new little one joining our family soon, I don't want you to ever feel like you aren't #1 in my world.  I love you so much, and I know from having you when Sissy was 2, that my love for you will not change. (Not. One. Bit!) You are an amazing boy and I can't w...

Month of Bumps (37-40 weeks)

Well, here we are on the evening of your due date.  I'm sitting on a birth ball as I type, swaying my hips in time with the constant contractions I've been getting for about an hour now.  I'm not really in labor yet, and I'm sure I'd be jinxing myself to call this early labor, but I can assure you, you are doing your best to make progress and join us very soon! I went to my 40 week appointment today and you are head down again (yay, and thank you!) and I'm about 2.5-3cm dilated, so that was all good news.  I'm so excited to meet you soon and am so ready.  Like I've mentioned, I had a huge to-do list that I've pretty much completed, so I'm feeling very comfortable and settled at this point. These bigger Braxton Hicks contractions began on our way up to Bellingham a week and a half ago and have been pretty consistent most days.  I was sure while shopping with Grandma last Monday afternoon that I was going into labor walking from Nordstrom to ...
