Father's Day Weekend

Last year we went to the lake for Father's Day, so this was Kevin's first year celebrating at home.

We kicked off our weekend festivities boating on Saturday with Mamie and Papa!

Abigail had a shirt for every occasion  :)

Kevin was concerned that Abigail may not like the boat this year, but she seemed to love it!  (at one point hanging off the bow and looking into the water.  Maybe a bit too comfortable...)

We had dinner on the patio at Wilde Rover where Abigail devoured a hummus plate (and snuck in sips of ranch dressing when we weren't looking!), then stopped for sunset near Meydenbauer Bay on the way home.

Father's Day cigars on the bow

We pulled into the slip around 9:45 and had Abigail in bed at the decent hour of 11pm  ;)

(not to mention her "midnight snack" of beans, rice, and enchilada at 10:30pm!)

Sunday morning began with breakfast in bed on the couch while watching the US Open.  Kevin requested a breakfast sandwich, which I completed with tater tots!

Gift and card from Abigail

After nap we went to my parent's for a BBQ.  Aside from the flash hail storm, it was a lovely afternoon spent celebrating Kevin and Grandpa, drinking craft beers (or in my case, Perrier), watching Abigail inhale yet another tub of hummus, and grilling burgers.

Bits and Dada!

Abigail and I had so much fun celebrating "Dada" this year!

I hope everyone enjoyed an equally festive weekend, and again, Happy Father's Day to all the amazing Dad's out there.

You guys make our world go round!

20 week ultrasound

Yesterday Kevin and I went to our 20 week ultrasound.  Everything looked great and the two questions still lingering in my mind were confirmed. 1) Yes, it's a boy! 2) Nope, I'm not having twins  :) I've heard it a million times: with each pregnancy you pop a little sooner, but when I was in maternity pants at 12 weeks, I thought surely there must be two in there... Here are some pictures, if you'd like to see. During George's 20 week ultrasound Kevin admitted he'd almost fallen asleep, so I will admit: I had a hard time staying awake this time  :) But we did get to see him in 4D ultrasound which we've never done before, so that was really cool. So fun! After our appointment we went to breakfast at Salish Lodge and took my first Month of Bumps picture. (cue shrills of excitement from everyone eager to see belly pics for the next 4 months!) Before taking the picture I (lovingly) assured Kevin that yes, we would be taking...

Two!

Yesterday you turned two; I can hardly believe it! Two year pictures, wearing a dress I wore when I was little You are such a funny, sweet little girl, and I love seeing your personality unfold more each day.  This last month you've really started coming out of your shell and love making people laugh; whether tickling "gee gee gee gee" , or joking around (the other day you took a doll house high chair and pretended to sit in it...all the while looking back at me smiling and laughing like "look, I'm going to try and sit in this teeny highchair!" ), you sure know how to make us laugh. Music is your first love.  Beach Boys Greatest Hits is the current album favorite , so we listen to it in the car every day.  Mainly to Barbara Ann (you always request "ba ba ba" ).  You also love listening to Swiss music with Grandma and having Dad play "Abigail Loves Cheese" on his guitar when he gets home at night. Schwingfest is this Saturday a...

five months

Happy #5, Benny Boy! You have grown up so much this past month, and in the sweetest ways possible.  You adore a good tickle or friendly face and can't seem to soak in the world around you enough; every time I look at you, your eyes are quickly scanning the room, working hard to put all the pieces together. A smart little guy, you are  :) This month I moved you to the nursery.  It was becoming increasingly difficult to put Abigail and George to bed at night, but putting them together in a room has made bedtime simple - they love being together.  As such, you now have your own room!  It's so sweet being back in a nursery with a little one.  Since George was in our bedroom until he was 5 months, then living at Gma and Gpa's for another 6 months, he wasn't in his own room until his first birthday.  So, in many ways, having you in a nursery reminds me so much of my first time around the Motherhood block, and many nights it fills me with such joy just...
