A Festive Art Project

This year for Christmas we made Christmas Tree hand and foot prints for the Grands! (much like the turkeys  for Thanksgiving last year). I thought Abigail would enjoy this project (lots of paint, a fun mess...), but let's just say it turned into a labor of love; with an emphasis on labor. I purchased the paint from JoAnn's.  It said right on the bottle " washable poster paint" but came off much like I-got-drawn-on-after-passing-out-at-a-party marker. She was less than thrilled. But we jumped around and made fools of ourselves long enough to get a least one adorable dirty baby bath shot. And in the end it was worth it; Mamie, Papa, Grandma, and Grandpa LOVED their pictures! (next year we'll use finger paint...) Happy New Year!

Christmas Celebrations

This year's celebrations were so much fun! While Abigail's still too young to grasp the concept of Christmas, she was definitely more with it than last year and had such a great time opening gifts.  It usually took her a few presents before she got the hang of it and really started tearing away, but luckily she had lots of stocking stuffers to warm up with  :) Celebrations began Christmas Eve morning when we woke up at my parents place and opened gifts from Santa (Santa still comes to their house every year- FYI!) Everyone arrived around 1 o'clock and we spent the day hanging out, drinking egg nog, eating our traditional beef dinner, and catching up.  It w...

Santa Baby

New York, New York!

Pull up a chair, take a load off; you're in for a long post! As most of you know, Kevin and I took off last week for the Big Apple, leaving Bitsy Girl behind with Grandma and Grandpa. It was amazing to have so much one-on-one time together.  (I can't imagine bringing Abigail at this age) The reason for the trip was to see A Christmas Story .  My Brother-in-Law Ian and his colleges created this musical a few years back and the show went to Broadway this year (!!), so Ian, Anne, and the kids left Seattle and headed to Broadway!  (more specifically, a 3 bedroom apartment in Hell's Kitchen for 4 months- what an experience!) We took a red-eye on Tuesday night and arrived Wednesday morning. There was so much to do and see (Kevin's first "official" trip to the city), so we hit the ground running. Wednesday kicked off with a big walking loop of Park Ave, Grand Central, Central Park, 5th Ave (to see the window displays!), Rockefeller Center, and Time Squa...
