Sunday Dinners

We started a new tradition with Kevin's family a few weeks ago: Sunday dinner. I love this- it's exactly what we did growing up, and many of my fondest childhood memories were made at my Grandparents house with my cousins. So imagine my joy when I walked in on this last night: Albeit a bit unusual, but this is the stuff great memories are made of! It makes my heart smile....

A Few Pictures

It's been hard getting around to blogging lately- life's been busy. As you saw last week, Abigail started swim lessons, but in the mix has also been a chaotic (and very unexpected) remodel of our master bedroom (and as a result, a few other home improvements), I've been asked to lead my PEPS group and have been working on some fun new ideas, Kevin started his new engagement at Microsoft yesterday, and, well, Abigail keeps me pretty busy with daily duties. So here are a few random pictures- just because  :) Abigail's becoming a pro at sitting up First cold a few weeks back.  Kevin loved that she actually cuddled with him! Comfy, casual Fridays! Abigail's first music lesson..   Removing the shed was part of the master bedroom saga... more to come Toe eating nudist Still lovin' the grub Oh and we just found out we're headed to Maui April 13-20th!   If anyone has Maui / Baby vacation advice, please share.  I've alread...

Swim Lessons

As some of you may remember, Abigail took her first dip back in October, but yesterday we hit the big leagues: swim lessons. Swim lessons for a 6 month old is much like storytime at the library: stand in a big circle and sing songs for 30 minutes, but in the pool you get the added bonus of playing with water and splashing! As you can tell from the pictures above, Abigail was rockin' the "diaper only" fashion.  I wasn't sure what the protocol was, so I erred on the minimalist side.  Little did I know, she would be the only nudist her class- how embarrassing.. Lesson learned: a fashionable one piece was purchased stat.  So next week she will no longer be the naked, gender questionable baby at swim lessons! Most adorable part of it all?  She has a natural froggy kick!  Check it out: In other news, Abigail had her 6 month check up this morning. At her 4 month visit she was in the 70% for weight and 50% for height, but today she weighed ...

Happy Valentine's Day

Abigail's already received three Valentine's Day gifts today: a box of chocolates from her buddy Griffin at PEPS, a play mat, and a Valentine's Day balloon from Grandma and Grandpa. Her favorite gift?  The balloon she's dangerously obsessed with sucking on, of course. Not much in the way of romantic celebrations at the Lauckner's today.  Kevin has not been feeling well, so Grandma came over to watch the babe so I could focus on the boy. Hope everyone's having a great day and takes a moment to remember all the people who fill your life with love. Love to you all!

Half a Year!

Yesterday was full of celebration!   The day began with story time with our PEPS friends where I picked up a few DVD's and books on baby sign language (our next learning feat).  Afterwards we headed to Cafe Bonjore at Greenlake for lunch, then walked around the lake.  Abigail decided half way around that she was done for the day...so I switched between the stroller, holding her, and stopping to nurse...it was interesting.  Note to self: 11am-4pm baby outings are not a good idea! We headed home to rest up before Mamie, Papa, Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Victor, and Uncle Mike came over for dinner at Gorditos.  Since it was such a nice day, we decided to walk to dinner and stopped along the way for Abigail's first swing ride- she loved it! Even the Grandpa's joined in the fun! Anne, Ian, and the kids met us at Gorditos.  So much fun having the whole family together to celebrate Abigail's half birthday.  John and Carolyn, you ...
