Easter 2016

Easter was so much fun this year! Sure, it was harder to decorate, prepare, and celebrate with three kids on board, but we managed to do pretty well considering it all. A couple days before Easter, I told Abigail we were going to decorate eggs after dinner one night.  We completely forgot, but then next morning, she comes running into our room, "Mom!  We need to decorate our eggs!!" So here's what 6:45am looked like that morning! A couple days later we went to visit the Easter Bunny at Bellevue Square with Ashlee and Trace. Abigail had spoken with the Easter Bunny (thanks, Reid!) a couple days before, letting him know she wanted Elsa and Anna dolls for Easter.  As it turned out, she ended up requesting a Barbie from him in person (so back to the store I went, to return the Frozen dolls and grab a Barbie) George REFUSED to wear his dress shirt.  So Kevin cued his Sir Topham Hat voice to seal the deal (George would jump off a bridge ...

six months

The big half year is here! I've gotta say, having George's two and a half year post the day before this one was intense; it made me realize how crazy September will be.  And, as is always the case when my baby turns 6 months, I start thinking about your first birthday...  Ha! Things have been great.  You are an adorably perfect mix of Abigail and George.  Active like George, and oh-so cuddly and sweet like your Sis.  I seriously can't get enough of you.  You are SUCH a sweet, easy, happy baby; you make Mothering look easy. Last week we started solids.  I grabbed some cans from the store and we started with sweet potato.  You haven't taken much interest in purees, although you love watching us eat.  If I had to guess, I'd say you don't like being spoon fed.  I bought some rice Mum Mums too and you love those, so I think it's time for me to Goggle '6 month finger foods' and see what things you can start feeding yourself. Sleep has...

George is two and a half!

These have been some pretty big 6 months.  The last time we blogged, you were still my baby; Benjamin wasn't born yet, and the pace of our lives seemed slower - more peaceful. So much has changed since then.  You quickly went from my being my baby to a big boy, and with that transition came understandable emotion.  Since the day you turned two, you've been a more emotional person; quick to cry, angering easily, and feeling misunderstood.  This breaks my heart, but we are working through it and every day I feel I'm able to better understand you.  Both the person you are, and the things you wish us to understand. As I joke with Grandpa, "the Serb is strong with this one" This strong willed, stubborn determination is a trait of mine as well.  At times misunderstood, I promise to do my best to understand and listen to you. You're my G: a sweet, caring, emotional ball of energy, and I hope you spend each year knowing how uniquely precious and extre...
