Bragging Rights

Kevin's a pretty romantic guy.  Not Romeo, but far from Al Bundy. His rankings sky rocketed, however, when he came home with these for our anniversary last night: A re-creation of my wedding bouquet! You're a keeper, Kevin Lauckner! Update: we watched our wedding video with Abigail tonight.  She loved listening to her Auntie sing the processional, swinging her arms in time with the music  :)  What a sweetheart.

Three Years!

Three years, (almost!)   two babies, and one remarkable love later, here we are celebrating our third wedding anniversary! Happy Anniversary, Lovies.   As I was putting Abigail to bed last night (the second attempt...) the sun was setting and it dawned on me that this time three years ago, we were spending an unforgettable evening with friends and family; watching the sun set over the Olympics, taking a moment to appreciate this special time, and soaking in all the love surrounding us.  The eve of our wedding! Rocking Abigail to bed with those chubby baby arms wrapped tightly around me, I thanked God for the blessings in my life- especially for you and this beautiful family we are creating. Thank you for being by my side through this ever-changing journey, loving me with all your heart each and every day, and most of all, for being the most amazing husband I could have dreamed of. I love you more each day. -Me Tonight we'll celebrate wit...

Month of Bumps (29-32)

Hi Baby, Summer is here, and it's a hot one!  I can't say it's any worse being pregnant in the heat; I'm sure everyone with no A/C feels miserable at times.  When people ask "how are you holding up in the heat" , my first thought is usually, " the same as you!" but to be polite I entertain them with a good long eye roll and an  "oh, you know... just another joy of pregnancy" type response.  It seems to be what people are looking for  :) You continue to be very active; moving around so much as I try to sleep and eagerly waking up in the morning, ready to start the day.  It feels like you're crawling which is unlike the kicks and body rolls I remember last time.  I think you'll be an active one, and even if you are a chill kid, you will still go down as my most active pregnancy to date! Naming you while not knowing if you are a boy or girl continues to be a challenge.  There's something strange about making such a concrete...

Baby Girl Lauckner?!

When it comes to comparing ultrasound pictures, they say girls will look like their sisters while boys look like their brothers. I think these two 20 week ultrasound pictures look pretty similar, don't you? We will find out soon enough... T-minus 8 weeks! In other news, I'm looking forward to an Anne-filled weekend.  We're going to see Kevin's sister star in Pirates of Penzance on Saturday, then catching up with Dan and Anne on Sunday and Monday.  I can't wait!

23 months

This time next month you'll be TWO! It's been such a fun month.  I'm slowing learning Abanesse (and you're slowly learning English), your hair is long enough for ponytails and pigtails now, and we've been having so much fun playing in the sun with you these past few weeks. We had a BBQ with our PEPS buddies at Magnuson Park today; you had so much fun playing with your friends, throwing rocks, eating watermelon, and chatting with everyone.  We left around 8pm and you were beat.  You fell asleep on the car ride home with no time to give you a bath (thank goodness for baby wipes!) , and hardly managed a diaper change.... A fun day indeed! *** You're changing so much and becoming such a little girl.  It's so fun to see!  Here are your new news this month: New words and phrases: "Go Go Go!" when running or walking fast "Ah, Oh, Ee" = 1, 2, 3 (you hold up your pointer finger for one, then your index finger goes down and th...

Happy Fourth!

We spent the day on the boat with friends, lounging in the sun and watching Bellevue's fireworks from Meydenbauer Bay. A perfect day to relax and celebrate summer! I hope you had a happy fourth as well. Cheers!

Signs of the Times

Baby will be here before we know it, and unlike my pregnancy and early months with Abigail, I'm ready to embrace all things "daycare" (what I call homes with excessive amounts of baby toys, swings, and changing tables). Here are a few examples of the "daycare" we've embraced thus far: Fridge Art (amongst a million ultrasound pictures!)   Abigail's artwork makes me smile, and they're each a Masterpiece in my mind. A pinwheel in our front yard.  I could stand for a new one, but I leave it here for Abigail's enjoyment. Sippy cups overshadow our wine glasses.  Who thought I'd live to see the day?  Not me. A typical view of the tub when using our guest bath. Couch cleanings lead to toddler treasure troves.  Here are just a few gems from my last dive. The latest breaking news: decanters make a great vase! Our bathroom has become a Little Tikes parking lot.  Literally. The funny thing is, before Abigail...
