A Memorable Weekend

What a fun Memorial Day weekend! It started off with Tyler & Ashley's wedding at Herban Feast SODO .  A beautiful night (sprinkled with random hail and thunder) and complete with a hilarious photo booth, amazing midnight sliders, and a gushing bride and groom.  While Kevin and I enjoyed an evening out, Abigail had her first slumber party with Mamie and Papa! Saturday we enjoyed a beautiful day of boating , followed by a BBQ feast at my parent's place on Sunday afternoon. Then yesterday, we wrapped up this house-project-free-weekend ( yay! ) with a Caspar Babypants concert, shopping downtown, and dinner at Blue C sushi. Waiting for Caspar Babypants Still loving my sunglasses (she already lost hers!) We even ran into Mamie and Papa at Folklife! A very memorable, and perfectly relaxing weekend. Hope yours was just as fun!

Abigail's maiden voyage!

Abigail, meet Popeye. Popeye, meet Abigail. Yesterday we set out on Abigail's maiden voyage! She wasn't a fan of her lifejacket, but once I unzipped it, she settled right in. She loves the wind, waves, and the lulling sound of the motor (she even took two naps!) We spent the day with Mamie and Papa, cruising the lake, touring Lake Union, and enjoying a patio dinner at Chinook's  in Fisherman's Terminal. It was the perfect day for boating.  I'm so glad Abigail was a patient, relaxed, and easy-going fan of Popeye; my life is complete  ;) Bring it on, Summer!

Summer?

Is that you?.... It appears that summer decided to show up this week, so we made the best of it and headed outdoors. Between walks, parks, and outdoor dining, it's been a nice change of pace. Thanks Mother Nature, that was fun!

Mother's Day

Just making my way out of the black hole that has been my week: caring for a sick baby, and a computer that runs like a dinosaur...who knew 5 year old computer = ancient?  Not me. But I'm back and eager to share pictures from Mother's Day.  As is his way, Kevin went above and beyond to make it a special day for our little family! Remember last year when I ran everyone ragged with yard projects  we established the breakfast in bed tradition?  Well, that was the plan, until someone decided that 1) it was the perfect night for a slumber party! and 2) she needed to sleep in until 8:30am (she never does!)... ... so change of plans; we ate at the table  :) Kevin made Eggs Benedict.  Hands down, the best Benny I've ever had, and I've tried many variations! He also surpised me with two nights at a bed and breakfast in Walla Walla at the end of the month- I can't wait!  We're going to leave Abigail here with my parents, so maybe I'll get tha

Uncles

This week was all about Uncle time for Abigail. As many of you know, Kevin's brother Mike left Thursday for Bike & Build ; a 3500 mile journey across the United States building homes with Habitat for Humanity and raising awareness for affordable housing along the way. It has been such a joy having him in Seattle these past 6 months, but Wednesday night we bid him farewell on this most awesome adventure. And of course, we had resident photographer, Lucy Eisendrath, there to capture the event...  ;) Papa grilling up some delicious burgers! ???? ?????  #2 If you're not familiar with his trip and want to learn more, check out his website or follow him on Twitter (links embedded). Good luck Mike!!  We'll miss you, but can't wait to hear updates along the way! **** And speaking of new adventures, Abigail's been going under water at swim lessons the past few weeks, and I'm happy to report she's getting more comf

9 month well check

Today was Abigail's 9 month appointment.  I have been really excited for this weigh-in, and I'm happy to announce that while petite, she's growing like a (little) weed! Height: 26 3/4" (20th percentile) Weight: 17 lbs (15th percentile) Getting caught up on the latest issue of Seattle's Child while waiting for Dr. Spector Yep, she's a munchkin, but within healthy range which probably means she takes after her Grandmas or Auntie Anne- and not me  ;) Next stop: our one year appointment! I'll blink and she'll be asking for my car keys....

Buddies

Last last weekend (I'm late on this one...) we celebrated my Dad's birthday with some delicious BBQ and great friends. As many of you remember, Henry Clayton was born back in October; a fun built in friend for Abigail! But now at almost 7 months old, not-so-little Henry is giving Abigail a run for her money in the "baby stats" department... "Henry, this shirt might be more fashionable if you showed a little cleavage..." "Or not!...." "Okay, okay...it was just a suggestion!" It's so funny seeing these two so close in age!! I mean, wasn't it just yesterday that they looked like this?... And this?!... And this?!?!.... That's it.  I'm going on record to say it: time officially  FLIES ! *** And of course, this post wouldn't be complete without wishing my amazing Dad a very happy birthday.   I love you so much.  May this year be the best yet!
