Abigail Rolled Over!

The title says it all-- she did it!! And both Kevin and I were home to see it!  There's something unexplainably awesome about seeing your baby cross new milestones, and as luck would have it, our camera was laying there to catch it. Please excuse my squeals (I can only imagine the obnoxious Soccer Mom I will be), and Kevin's weird voice... don't ask..  it's an Abigail thing.  She digs it  :) We are so proud of you, Bits!!!

Merry Christmas!

Aaah... baby's first Christmas.  Life doesn't get much sweeter. With Abigail in tow, and Kevin and I full of holiday cheer, we celebrated with both families this year! It all started on Christmas Adam.  You know... the day before Christmas Eve.  Since Adam came before Eve  ;) Christmas Adam  My Mom wanted everyone together for a Christmas morning celebration, so we decided to start a new tradition:  Christmas dinner on "Christmas Adam" followed by "Christmas Morning" on Christmas Eve ...are you following?  ;) The celebrations began around 4pm on Christmas Adam when we arrived at Gma and Gpa's for our overnight stay. Abigail was greeted by Gma with her first present!  A long sleeve onsie which read: Dear Santa, I can explain... and little snowman booties. We enjoyed a delicious meal that evening, then opened presents Christmas Eve morning.  Of course, Abigail was the last person to wake up. Grandma surpised Abigail wi...

Santa Claus is Coming to Town

The week of Christmas is finally here and the countdown is on! To celebrate, we brought Abigail to meet Santa on Saturday afternoon.  The plan was to go to Nordstrom,  but they had a 4 HOUR wait (seriously?!), so we headed to Macy's.  Granted, Santa wasn't as impressive, but hey, she's 4 months old... it works  ;) Santa was kinna grumpy.... Of course, it's not easy to get a picture of a 4 month old looking at the camera, but since it wasn't busy, the photographer was really nice and kept trying... then we finally settled on something like the above. During this process Abigail's shoe slipped off, so I ran up to put it back on.  When I got up there I noticed a familiar smell... not a good one, if you know what I mean.  Since we were still taking her picture, I ignored it, but all I could think was "oh dear God...  please tell me she didn't poop on Santa."   Of course that would be an Abigail thing to do, but luckily she kept it in t...

Put a bird on it

Better yet, how about two... As many of you remember, we used birds in our wedding centerpieces (quick shout out to the "kev-kev" table!) and had a bride and groom bird as our cake topper (as seen above).  Who'da thought we'd be so hip to the trend  ;) After enjoying our wedding cake on our first anniversary , Mr. and Mrs. Bird came out of frozen isolation and back into our junk drawer lives. And what was I do to with them? Put a bird on it -- of course! So this morning I took out Mr. and Mrs. Bird, attached them to our ring pillow/nest, and tied them to our Christmas tree. A perfect ornament! I'm so glad I was able to put them to good use; otherwise they may have lived many years in the depths of a junk drawer, covered in dust. So there you have it: one of many way to...(wait for it)....put a bird on it!

Happy Birthday Oscar (and Anne!)

Today is my sister-in-law Anne's birthday.... Happy Birthday Anne!! However, I'm learning your children quickly overshadow these most important of dates.  So with that said, Happy Birthday Oscar! :) Last night we joined Oscar and friends for an awesome Blues Clues / Dance Party birthday celebration. Guests included Oscar's closest friends as well as Mamie and Papa (their first grand kid birthday party celebration!) Could Oscar be any sweeter?! This was his first "real" birthday party so it was really fun watching him take in all the love and attention. Uncle, Abigail, and I love you Oscar! You are such a gentle spirit, awesome big brother, caring cousin, and a true puzzle-solving extraordinaire  :) I hope 3 is your best year yet!

Almost Edible!

Abigail was having a blast taking her Watch Me Grow picture this week, so afterwards I turned her over for some tummy time and camera practice. I've been meaning to get some close ups of those adorable little rolls!! LOVE
