Happy Halloween Everyone!

Just coming back to Monday after a spooktacular weekend of festivities! Saturday night we headed to Chris and Elle's for their annual Halloween costume party, and as you can see, we opted for a Star Wars theme: Abigail was Yoda, Kevin was Hans Solo, and I was Princess Leia. So far Abigail's first Halloween (and first celebrated holiday!) has been going well; she's going with a "frightful" theme today: puked all over our bed, peed in her bassinet last night, had a blow out in her swing...  you know, just keeping me busy!  So while I'd love to show you all the great pictures from the party, I'll save it for tomorrow....I'm on laundry patrol this morning. Hope everyone has a safe and fun Halloween! Oh and a quick "hi" from Minnie....she got into the spirit this year by posing next to some fall decor It's fur, not fat...  ;)

Hand vs. Pacifier

Pacifiers are way  overrated in Abigail's world... Still attempting to give them to her.  Still failing miserably.

Pinterest

I'm super late to the game on this... Have you heard of Pinterest?  If not, head over to their website and check 'em out. If you know me, you know I'm an image board maniac ...I had an image board designated JUST for hair styles in the time leading up to our wedding.  So imagine my enthusiasm when I headed over to Pinterest and found a whole website designed around "pinning" inspiring images.  Ahhh...I'm in love. Here are a few organization images inspiring me right now... This would put an end to me unplugging our clock for the millionth time... HELLO!  Where has  this been my entire kitchen-organizing life?! Can't wait to start pinning and get inspired!

Rooting for Seattle

John and Carolyn came to stay with us a few weeks ago and we had a blast catching up with them! From football games and beer, to pumpkins, parks, and bars, it was great to spend the week hanging out...especially since Abigail and I missed their beautiful wedding back in August. We hope you guys consider Seattle in your top 5 places to settle someday....we're all rooting for it!

Baby BOY Clayton!!

Our dear friends Dan and Anne gave birth to a beautiful baby boy Wednesday afternoon and I am dying to show y'all pictures! Welcome to the world Henry John Clayton!! Congratulations Dan and Anne!! He is beautiful and will bless your life in so many amazing ways.

Olympic Training Begins with Tummy Time!

The First Annual Carve-O-Rama

Now that step one was complete, it was time to carve our pumpkins. We got together Sunday afternoon for the first annual "Lauckner/Eisendrath Carve-O-Rama!" Kevin and Carolyn took one for the team, hollowing all 5 pumpkins while John hung out with Abigail, Anne made an amazing stuffed shell dinner, the kids played, and, well... I took pictures  :) I found these fun Halloween masks last week and picked them up for the kids.  Lucy, Carolyn, and I bedazzled Lucy and Abigail's earlier last week and the kids wore them while carving on Sunday. A fun bonus to the carve-o-rama! For whatever reason, Oscar insisted on wearing his upside down at all times. After dinner we set up the pumpkins in the dinning room and started carving. Kevin, being the avid carver that he is ( sarcastic tone.. ) decided he'd use a drill to carve his pumpkin this year... And here's how it turned out: I call this "the guinea pig shot out"...

The Pumpkin Patch! Well, kinna....

Last Friday we headed out with John, Carolyn, Anne, Lucy, and Oscar to Remlinger Farms  for pumpkins! We started the morning off with an amazing Happy Hour breakfast at Toulouse Petit , then eagerly piled into the cars, headed for Carnation and the millions of pumpkins awaiting us!   Or so we thought. We'd figured, "hey, why not take advantage of a weekday afternoon and go when it's not so busy?"   Great idea; right?   Wrong. Apparently pumpkin patches aren't open on weekday....cause not only was the Remlinger patch closed, but so were the others we tried. However, we stayed at Remlinger for a few minutes...long enough to snap a few pictures and at least LOOK like we went. This unfortunate series of events left us with one clear choice.... Freddies! Yeah, I know what you're thinking....  " way to give up guys!"   But man, nothing beats 3 pumpkins for $10!   So, what's the moral of the story, you ask?   Remlinger's...

Nerd Alert

Whelp, it happened. We did our first nerdy parent thing... One of these is now affixed to the back window of our car. I can already hear her requesting to be dropped off a block down the street...

A New Kind of Normal

We headed to Alderbrook Friday night for a little evening getaway.... this time with Abigail in tow! And I've gotta admit, while it was fun, it was quite different from the Alderbrook of yore.  It was a new kind of normal. She was a little fussy on Friday night (which makes sense after two weeks at Grandma and Grandpa's, then straight to Alderbrook), but she was a trooper. Bundled up Saturday morning, having coffee on our deck These two take the cutest pictures together! Must be a Daddy / Daughter thing. Saturday morning we woke early and headed to the pool for Abigail's first swim . She did great! We headed out after swimming and breakfast, and as always, she slept all the way home  (Amen!) Got down to the serious business of sleep while we checked out Feels great to be back home after two full weeks. And now to a fun, busy week ahead with John and Carolyn in town!!
