Baby Shower: Round 3!

Yes, a total of 3 baby showers; lucky us!! My boss and gals from work threw me such a sweet and thoughtful shower last night, I only wish I remembered my camera. Enjoyed a late afternoon of snacks, cupcakes, lots of adorable gifts, and great company! Thank you again to Judy and all the ladies at ADW.  You totally spoiled us!

Month of Bumps! (33-36)

Dear Abigail, Today you are 36 weeks...I seriously cannot believe it...where has the time gone?!  Dad and I are so excited for your arrival, and I think you are as well!  In the last week, you've been doing a lot of stretching, which means it's probably getting tight for you (and a bit uncomfortable for me), so after next week, feel free to come whenever you're ready! In the last month we've done lots of exciting things together.  We went to your second baby shower (there were a total of 3 thrown for you!), went on a few weekend trips, finished setting up your nursery, and now just waiting for your arrival.  We had a doctor's appointment last week and got to see you again!  They say you're 5 1/4 lbs now...that's fine by me  :)  It was so fun to see you during the ultrasound; you had your little wrist on your forehead in a very dramatic way- Dad's nervous you may be taking after me...we shall see  ;) Summer will be so much fun with...

Chasing the sun to Banks Lake

What a great, and much needed weekend away!  We headed out on Friday for Banks Lake, successfully keeping us from work, to-do lists, and errand running; perfect. Kevin's continuous joke for the first 3 hours of our drive?  " Don't look now, but there is a large boat following VERY  close behind us!" I laughed each time.  Because I'm a dork, and Kevin's a dork, and we like dorky jokes.  Guess it's our thing... Kevin's indie style road trip pic.  He says it's a framer... 4 hours, one pee / gas stop, and a Micky D's lunch later, we were at Sunbanks ! Unpacked the car, plopped Popeye in the water, then headed out for a little sight seeing on the lake.  It was the perfect night complete with fishing, a BBQ dinner, sunset cruise, and a bonfire on the lake. Popeye's parking spot Our waterfront view We couldn't ask for more....peace and quite, a little R & R...just perfect. That i...

Baby school dropouts...

...no graduation day for us. Yep, it's true; we're starting this whole parenting thing on a pretty pathetic note.  Today was to be Part 2 of our Childbirth Preparation class, but after a boring riveting first session, we decided to stick to reading the book.  And hey, we're good readers, this could work.... right?.... On a positive note, we've been reading the below two parenting / baby books and loving every minute of them! Here's praying for a fast delivery, well mannered baby, amazing nighttime sleeper, and eventual teenager who adores us... baby classes or not  ;) We love you little pumpkin!  T-minus one month!!

Happy Birthday, Lucy!

A big Happy Birthday to Miss Lucy Jane who turns 5 years old today! On Monday night we joined Lucy and her friends for an Aladdin themed birthday party!  Highlights included a Jasmine birthday cake, roller skates, a 2 foot Rapunzel wig, tap shoes, and an appearance by Lucy's new fish, Sara. Lucy wasn't pleased with Oscar's offer to help....  ;) Ampa with his Grandsons After opening gifts, it was time to party.  Break out the roller skates and blonde wig! Lucy LOVED her new roller skates! Excited for the blonde reveal! The motley crew Best Buds Ama and Ampa partying it up! Lucy's signature pose of the day Hope you're having a great birthday Lucy! We love you so much and are so happy we could join you on your special day.

Summer is here!

Well, technically it is.  And today's gearing up to be gorgeous, so we'll see how it goes... So much to be thankful for this week; today's summer weather included!  Last night we joined Lucy for her 5th birthday party (pictures to follow), and this weekend we're headed to Banks Lake for a little pre-baby getaway; we can't wait! Hope everyone's enjoying the sunshine.  I am, if only from a window in my office... Happy first day of Summer!

Here's to you Dad(s)

We had a blast celebrating Kevin's first (un)official Father's Day! We started the morning with our new tradition: breakfast in bed.  It was decided on Mother's Day that from this year forward, breakfast in bed would be served to the "parent of the day". Kevin's menu: a sausage breakfast sandwich with a bowl of coca krispies.  Solid choice my love. We met up with my family in the afternoon for coffee and donuts, followed by dinner at Uneeda Burger in Fremont.  If you haven't been yet, check them out. Amazing burgers! Our little family of three! Happy Father's Day Dad, Kirk, and Kevin. Thank you for all you do to be such special role models.  I love you each so much!
