Month of Bumps! (29-32)

Abigail,  We're exactly 8 months today and getting closer and more excited about meeting you everyday! In the last few weeks you've gone from a little kicker, to a pro, and now transitioning to semi-chill mode (mainly big rolls and movements). We have been preparing your nursery and setting up all your little things; I hope they meet your standards. I know things in there are getting tight, but hang in there and we'll see each other very soon! We love you so much and cannot wait to meet you.  xo, Mom 29 weeks 30 weeks 31 weeks 32 weeks

Sailing into my heart

Maybe it was our trip this weekend and seeing all the pretty sail boats, or maybe it's pure nostalgia, but I'm obsessing over this little sailor outfit!  I had one when I was little and am dying to find one for Abigail.  I found one at Grammies Attic (great place for classic children's clothing), and might just make the purchase...once I get a green light from The National Bank of Kevin, of course  :) What were some of your most memorable outfits as a child?

Getting away to Port Townsend

We were sitting around yesterday deciding what we should do with the day (and trying to avoid the dreaded to-do list...) when Kevin came up with a great idea.  It's been forever since we got out of town on a whim, so why not head to Port Townsend and get a hotel for the night? Yes please! 30 minutes later we had a room booked at The Swan and were headed for the 11am ferry to Kingston.  It was such a nice and unexpected recharge. While waiting for our room we roamed around town and grabbed lunch at Courtyard Cafe ; amazing deli style sandwiches and salads. After checking in we walked around town, went shopping (we found some cute baby clothes!), and stopped for coffee at a little place near the water.  We ended the evening with dinner at T's Restaurant on the point. Yes, there was a lot of eating, but when you're pregnant, that's about all you can do! After an amazing 11 hours of sleep (this kid's taking it out of ...

Baby closets!

Seriously up there with puppies and kitten on the cute-meter! While Kevin was working on the fence this weekend, I was busying myself with all the new baby clothes, blankets, toys, and goodies!  Decided it made most sense to have a two tier closet in the nursery, so I started there: taking out the old rod, doing some touch up paint, then installing the new two tier unit in her closet.  It cost $40 total, but was worth every penny. Okay, so maybe I got a little help  :) I didn't realize how many clothes the little munchkin has till I threw it all in her crib! Then OCD Tanya kicked in and started organizing! It's so cute and fun to look at that I can't find the heart to put the doors back on, so we may just leave it like this for a while...  ;)

Something old, something new....

We've been busy this weekend... and I've been blogging away!   Our goal was to get the deck stained, but as we all know, weather didn't pan out.  So yesterday morning Kevin decided it was time to start building the fence (yay!).  It was the pre-existing fence behind the deck and the goal was to disassemble, then reassemble in the area between the yard and car port: mission accomplished! I can't say I did much to help (aside from some unsolicited, and I'm sure unwelcome, opinions), but below is my photojournalistic interpretation of Kevin's weekend. Kev The Great for the win! Here's how it all started: a few pieces of fence in need of 4x4 posts and a straight line. Aaaah, the look of love...  ;) Farewell trusty party tub....you were arguably the best $6 we ever spent. What a romantic guy! A journalistic fail.  I was inside blogging for most of this and neglected my responsibilities. One man and his ba...

Let Summer Commence

So excited to finally share this post!   Below are pictures of the deck we've been talking about for months.  A family friend built and completed it last week, so now we just need to stain and plant shrubs.  I'll be sure to post more once everything is complete. Below are pictures of the daily progress.  It took the guys 5 days and they did an amazing job. Crooked picture, not house  ;) We finally got the house numbers up Ta-da! Now all we need is a weekend of sunshine (I know that's asking a lot), then we'll stain this bad boy and get some plants. Expect a BBQ invitation in the foreseeable future; we'll be grilling this summer! That's all for now.  Back outside I go.  Here's a peak into what Kevin's working on this weekend.... Oye.
