Happy (almost) Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving is almost here and today we're heading to Leavenworth to spend the long weekend with family. Hope everyone is relaxed and enjoying the start to this holiday season.  Have a great Thanksgiving and we'll post when we're back on Monday!

Rome wasn't built in a day

Things are going well at the house and we can almost say that everything's done....almost. After the remodel downstairs, new furniture throughout (you don't realize how little furniture you have till you move into a house) and lots of weekends spent painting, repainting, spackling, and caulking we are nearing completion. Just in time for the holidays and "D-Day" 12/18...our holiday party.  Went to Crate & Barrel last night and got a great table and chair set. It's in stock so we should get it by next week- score! We scoured through the crowds of cabbies and chauffeurs, but our "Istanbul Home Suite" sign was no where to be found. Crap! This is a huge city and we had no idea where this place was....now what? Since we couldn't get Internet access, we tried calling our hotel, but we had the wrong number. Finally, we found a lady willing to help us. She worked at a cell phone kiosk in the airport and let us use her phone and Internet. We quickly learned English was not spoken widely in Turkey. But, this lady let us linger at her booth, made a few calls for us...
